There's no #aquaticplant that gladdens my heart more than the flowing locks of River Water-Crowfoot (Ranunculus fluitans), growing here in the Little Ouse down from Brandon beside Fennel Pondweed, here coming into flower, its blooms being no match for the Crowfoot which it can seem to emulate! 12/24

A close up of some purple flowers that have only just opened, and so the petals are still unfurling. On one of the flowers there is a white spider, which has its two front pairs of legs spread wide, giving the appearance of a crab (they also shuffle sideways).

Didn't think I'd be able to get an #AquaticPlant for this #wildflowerhour but the Purple Loosestrife has just started to open. It's not that pretty yet but there was added interest from a Crab #Spider who was waiting to give any eager #pollinators a "hug". #wildlifefrommywindow #gardenwildlife
