A photograph of two seven spot ladybirds, well, making more seven spot ladybirds. These are fairly large ladybirds with red bodies with black spots and two white spots by the thorax. A black head and thorax with a few white spots. Very pretty ladybirds and loads here. We counted to 35 and gave up.
Coccinella septempunctata.
A photograph of a bee. It is sunning itself on cow parsley. It’s gots a fuzzy, orangish thorax with a black with white stripes abdomen. It’s an Andrena species, possibly Andrena nitida.
A photograph of another Andrena sp bee. Not sure which one. There were quite a few of these very little bees buzzing about. Its thorax is deep brown and bare with some yellow hairs on the side. Its abdomen is also brown, with white stripes. It’s also sunning itself on some cow parsley.
A photograph of an absolute stunner of a hoverfly. This is a rather chonky beast, with a bronze-brown thorax and a yellow and black striped abdomen. It is outlined with small golden hairs, which makes it glitter in the sun. Very blingy. It is sunning itself on a cow parsley leaf (those plants were very very popular!)
Epistrophe eligans.
Some invertebrates from this week - so great to see more coming out of their slumber 😍
Using the TG-7 and still learning. But a great little camera to take out when I can’t be bothered with the ‘proper’ camera
