Day 83 of #JRBPVirtualtour! The striped #skunk (#Mephitis #mephitis). We caught a #surfeit of #skunks (yes a group of skunks is called a surfeit!) crossing the causeway. These #polygamous #omnivores possess highly developed, #musk-filled #scentglands to ward off predators.
Day 80 of #JRBPVirtualTour. The #hollyleaved #cherry (#Prunus #ilicifolia)! Native to the #chaparral areas of #coastal #California. An #evergreen shrub to tree, producing edible #cherries, with shiny and spiny toothed leave.
