Heron that is mostly white with some blue gray wash on the head and neck. The subject is in an awkward stance — it was on high alert due to some aggressive Snowy Egrets nearby. As an adult, this bird will have a wine color on its head and neck, with slate blue on the body. Adult Little Blue Herons do have a two-toned bill that is a blue gray color with a black distal third, and greenish yellow legs and feet, so that won't change. The background is a landscape of pickleweed and rocks, somewhat underexposed in order not to blow out the details on the subject.
