A few tornadoes and isolated very large hail are possible late this afternoon and evening across northern Missouri into southern Iowa and north-central Illinois with any sustained supercells that develop. Storms are otherwise expected to evolve into an extensive line by Friday evening from Iowa to Oklahoma and northwest Texas, with the primary threats of large hail and damaging winds. #WeatherAwareDay #weather #wx #SPC #SevereWeather #categorical #tornado #wind #hail Active Spring Like Pattern Across the Eastern Half of the Country The second storm will track across central and eastern portion of the country this weekend. Heavy wintry precipitation will affect the northern Plains to the upper peninsula of Michigan. Severe thunderstorms are expected along and ahead of the cold front, where very large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible from the mid-Mississippi and Ohio Valleys to southern Plains.

Friday morning is dry with highs staying cool in the 30s and low 40s. Winds pick up and a new storm system brings more snow, sleet, and freezing rain by Friday evening.
