However, this is a melanistic gray squirrel sometime referred to a black morph of black squirrel and, as the name suggests, have black or dark black-brown fur all over their bodies.
Melanistic squirrel (aka "black" squirrel or "black morph" or "black" gray squirrel) tucks into its spring salad of fresh leaves and buds. Nom, nom!
