I drew the seagull with pencil and the painted in the colours using wet on wet method allowing colours to blend. Masking the seagull with my hand and card I splattered paint for the background and before it dried blew through a straw to mix the colours further. Finally I drew round the seagull outline with black pen and put in details such as the feathers.

Shot from inside a church that was carved into sandstone in Cappadocia, Turkey. The sandstone is a light tan color which is visible on part of the church that is outside in the light. Inside, it all appears grey due to the darkness. There are arched openings with carved rectangular pillars that have vertical flutes. Light is coming in through the openings creating a very nice chiaroscuro effect on the pillars and floor. The floor is dirt.
