Gentle sunlight one the birds on the feeder in the garden. On it sit two little siskin and a greenfinch. We can see the a front view of two of the birds, both have sunflower seeds in their beaks. Behind the birds is a beech hedge? Yet to get its new spring leaves.

A Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus), perched on a twig. The bird's body is facing towards us, but his or her head is turned to the right side of the image and looking up. Blue Tits are small, colourful, and characterful birds. The head is white with a blue crown, with a stripe (black from the beak up to and just beyond the eye, dark blue thereafter) encircling each cheek. The underparts are yellow, with a short, often irregular black stripe running down the middle of the belly. We can't see the back or much of the wings here, but the small part of the one wing that is visible is blue. The underside of the tail is grey. The beak, and the legs and feet, are dark grey.

A very small bird, facing to the right, walks across brown leaf litter floating on top of a small pond. The bird is so light that it doesn't sink through the leaves into the water. The Wren is light brown with paler underparts, orange/pink legs, orange beak, and a white eyebrow stripe over a dark eye. The wren has a short, narrow tail which is characteristically cocked straight up in the air.

"Painting Bunting Posing" Tried many times in many places to get a good shot of a painted punting. Then, one spring day while my wife and I were sitting in our backyard, one showed up and proceeded to pose for us. He stayed about 5 minutes, then flew away. A great 5 minutes.
