Sunlight breaking through the clouds during a walk along the Devon Hooken cliffs woodland last August. In the foreground you see woodland trees and on the right side steep cliffs. The gap in the clouds is in the centre and almost reflects the shape of the sea. The sun rays illuminated the cloud borders and fall onto the cliffs and sea in diagonal transparent lines.

My wife watches from the sidelines, left, as judging takes place in the Smooth Fox Terrier class at Crufts annual show in Birmingham six years ago. Several handlers are in the arena in the huge hangars at the NEC exhibition halls in Birmingham where the Kennel Club show takes place. Several onlookers can be seen seated around the edge of the ring next to a judges’ desk with the letters Crufts embossed on it.
