Photo of the remaining upright columns that once held up part of a huge edifice, a vast, big Basilica, with space for a law court and public assembly areas. The emperor Trajan built it close to the Trajan Market, all part of a downtown area of Rome called the Roman Forum. The photo here shows both the ruins and the many existing buildings all around the outside borders of the Forum. Everything but the blue sky is bathed in a golden sepia coloured light from the late afternoon sun.
