The artist is Jens Galschiøt, known for his socially engaged art. Though his sculptures have been shown internationally, these ones were in front of Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, Denmark on a dark, cloudy, and stormy afternoon in September 2011. That's why the sky above and behind the statues looks either stormy grey or a blueish grey. It makes the dark black colour of the sculptures look bolder against the pale background.

The Great Hall has 10 or more large, tall and wide window bays, each with 9 window panes. The bottom photo of the Hall looks at the long hall from a side angle so the hallway seems foreshortened into shadows. For Shakespeare buffs, the building was originally built in the 1420s as a stronghold, before later being transformed into a magnificent Renaissance castle in the late 16th century. The castle is now designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its outstanding universal value in Northern European history.
