When I moved here, the first summer the yard was full of clover and the scent of its flowers filled the air. My geese pick the flowers off and mow it short, so one gardening goal was to return areas of clover to the property

#PollinatorGardening Attract more pollinators with plants with long blooming cycles like starry rosinweed (Silphium asteriscus). It's a beautiful, tall, long-lived, drought tolerant, easy-to-care-for wildflower. It’s native from TX – NY & FL.

#PollinatorGardening Stokes' aster (Stokesia laevis) is a great choice to plant for the pollinators in North Florida & SE states where it’s native. The native bees love it. The FNPS plant profile has details & a link to native plant vendors that have it in stock. www.fnps.org/plant/stokes...

#PollinatorGardening #PlantMoreNatives This graphic by Nancy Seiler provides some great ideas for building pollinator gardens, which include:
- A wide variety of native flowering plants
- Locations for am & pm sun
- A selection of larval food plants
- Some thick vegetation nearby for shelter

Backyard micro-prairie burn. Between wind and rain, we're running late in the season. It doesn't look like much now, either, but oh does this baby green up after this as temps continue to warm.
