Provenance Vineyards Carneros Chardonnay 2016, California #AgedWineTuesday Dark yellow in color with a golden hue. Strong nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity. Showing overripe citrus and apple fruits with oak, spices, light vanilla, herbs, tangerines, light honeysuckle, sea salt and white pepper. Nice length on the finish with herbs and dried fruits. This 9 year old Chardonnay is still drinking beautifully. So nice to see that. Complex and entertaining. Nicely balanced, and good by itself as a sipping wine. Rich and elegant, and still shows lots of fruits. Paired nicely with the Italian Prosciutto. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $25 (at release).

Chateau LaGrange Les Arums de Lagrange Blanc 2023, Bordeaux, France Pale lemon in color with a light golden hue. Strong nose of citrus, limes, light oak, spices, earth and herbs. Medium bodied with medium plus acidity. Crisp and refreshing. Dry on the palate with lemons, green apples, grapefruits, herbs, earth, spices and light wood. Nice length on the finish with limes and almonds. This is a very tasty white wine from Bordeaux. Elegant and spicy. Well balanced and complex. Soft and smooth. Good right out of the bottle, and good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with fresh seafood. A blend of 73% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% Sauvignon Gris and 15% Sémillon. Aged for 7 months in (40% new) French Oak barrels. 13.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $40.

This is a very tasty Chardonnay from Williamette Valley in Oregon. Fruit forward with nice complexity. Soft and elegant. I had the previous vintage and this one is drinking much better. Nicely balanced and easy to drink. A great sipping wine that will pair nicely with food too. 100% Chardonnay grapes were aged in (33% new) French oak barrels for 16 months. 12.7% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $42.

Tangy finish with round tannins and tangy cherries. This Mourvedre from Bandol is still very young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Spicy and chocolatey. A little hot at the back of the throat at the moment, but that should go away with more bottle time. Would be nice to revisit it in 10 years and see how it evolves. A good food wine. A blend of 90% Mourvedre and 10% Grenache, from 50 year old vines. Aged in large French oak barrels for 18 months. 14% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $35.

Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, spices, light oak, earth, chocolates, tobacco, espresso and peppercorn. Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries. This 10 year old Barolo is still fresh and vibrant. Delicious and easy drinking with a great mouthfeel. Complex and well balanced. Tangy and interesting. Already drinking beautifully, and will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years and beyond. Gorgeous, elegant and robust. A great sipping wine to share with friends and talk about. 100% Nebbiolo grapes were aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 6 years. 14% alcohol by volume. 93 points. $200.

This is a tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from california. Easy drinking, rich and extracted. Fruit forward and spicy. Showing nice complexity and feels like a Lodi Cabernet. Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime. Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will also pair nicely with burgers. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 90 points. $75.

Crisp and refreshing, with lots of earth notes. Feels like a Provence Rosé. Good right out of the bottle, and better when properly chilled. A good food wine that paired nicely with my charcuterie board of dried meats and cheeses. Pinot Noir grapes were aged for 2 months on the lees. A tiny production of less than 1,000 bottles. 13.1% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $28.

This Brunello Riserva from the great 2016 vintage is still young, and needs a few more years of bottle time. However, already enjoyable even by itself. Will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years. Wine Enthusiasts 92 points. Well balanced and complex.
